The Board of Directors has decided that we must implement a strict set of COVID-19 guidelines for the Festival. This will include vaccinations, masking and rapid tests. We looked at the current trends, consulted with health professionals among our community and followed the lead of other orchestras in the Seattle area.
This is the policy for the four reading sessions. We will revisit this policy for the concert rehearsals and performance, but it is unlikely to change without a significant change in case volumes.
All players will be required to show proof of vaccination.
Strings and Percussion
Masks will be required for all. Strings and percussion that have been vaccinated and boosted will not require a home rapid test the day of the event.
Strings and percussion that have been vaccinated but not boosted will require a home rapid test the day of the reading.
Brass and Winds
Brass and Winds will require a rapid test the day of the event and will mask when not playing.
Conductors
Conductors who have been vaccinated and boosted and have completed a rapid test the day of the event have the option of not masking.
We will have a limited number of home tests at the readings for those unable to get a set of rapid tests on short notice. Here is a link to how to get free testing kits.
